About the Role:

To support our fast growth and ambitious international expansion, we are hiring a Data Engineer to join our team. We are looking for a person with at least 3 — 5 years of experience, who is enthusiastic and passionate about our mission: simplifying and digitalising farm information and processes to help farmers all over the world, via easy to use, high-quality and innovative software solutions. Responsibilities:

As an Analytics / Data Engineer, you will be joining the team that is building our market-leading SaaS apps & platform. Working alongside our product owners, scrum master’s and development teams, you will be responsible for a multitude of data solutions that are utilised to provide powerful insights to our customers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Be a «Curator» of the Data Warehouse. Provide clean data sets to end users, modelling data in a way that empowers end users to answer their own questions. This includes working on the Herdwatch Enterprise Data Model, Metrics and other frameworks.
• Optimize DBT models.
• Be a thought leader in refining the ways we are developing, testing, deploying, organizing, and documenting DBT models and our data warehouse.
• Help evolve the Data Platform by contributing to the design and implementation of the next generation of the stack, both from infrastructure and data modelling point of view.
• Collaborate with product managers, go-to-market teams to build automation and tooling to support their needs in an environment where dozens of changes can be shipped daily. This includes a lot of quality-of-life tooling to automate away daily toil to help everyone focus on high value-added tasks.
• Implement systems to monitor what we have built, to detect and surface both bottlenecks and problems with the infra and data quality issues.

The Person, the skills and attributes required for this role:

You have a very strong understanding of SQL, and significant experience in data modelling, warehouse design.

You expert knowledge with big data processing frameworks like PySpark or data transformation libraries like polars, pandas.

You have strong professional experience or understanding of tools and technologies that are in our stack such as AWS Athena, DBT, BigQuery or equivalent technologies.

You have demonstrable experience with creating dashboards and charts. Hands on experience with BI tools in our stack like QuickSight, Preset is a bonus.

You’ve got some understanding with setting up CI/CD pipelines for data. We use GitHub Аctions but familiarity with any data-ops framework is a bonus.

• At least Upper-Intermediate level of English
